EverFile Introduces Portable Personal Information Management System
Online tool unifies career, education, service, and other personal records

February 21, 2006 - Santa Clara, CA - EverFile Systems, Inc. today introduced its new flagship product, the EverFile™ portable personal information management system. The on-line tool integrates powerful functions and utilities to create a secure, unified storage and exchange tool for individuals who want to build and control personal information over a lifetime.

"The EverFile system is designed for knowledge workers who move frequently between organizations of all types," said Melissa Jones, founder and CEO of EverFile Systems. "These independent individuals are often not able to gather good information as they move, or to consolidate it into a unified record. This limits effectiveness in demonstrating growth, skills, and contribution value. Another problem they have is managing an array of information that is fragmented across a variety of non-compatible data management tools and environments. We offer great utility through our structure to help with capture, storage, retrieval, and exchange, but our uniqueness is our portability. Portability addresses how information moves with and stays with an individual over the course of her or his career and lifetime."

EverFile's strategy is to 1) move information management responsibility to individuals -- who need the information to build comprehensive life records; 2) relieve organizations of the burden of maintaining information they actually need only for the time they are engaged with individuals; and 3) help individuals best showcase or demonstrate contribution value to organizations with which they interact. Says Jones, "We look at the full relationship cycle between individuals and organizations and address how to better support information management and exchange in all phases: approach, engagement, and separation. We challenge traditional assumptions about who needs to be responsible for holding information."

EverFile subscribers have an array of utilities that help them to: Enter data or upload files of all types; authorize individuals to upload confirmed records, such as references or work samples; pay third-party firms to independently perform background checks on selected records (thereby saving organizations money); create and send outputs, such as resumes and reference lists, in various formats; track career planning with coaches and counselors; and "dock" records for secure exchange with participating organizations. When an EverFile record is "docked," the individual and organization share access and can jointly add or modify information. At the point when an EverFile record is "undocked," both parties can choose whether to keep a copy.

To provide an example, an EverFile subscriber approaches an employer and docks relevant records so the employer can review her background and references. They engage her, and throughout their relationship both employee and employer can use the EverFile system for shared record management, also taking advantage of other utilities for performance management and career development. When the employee leaves (separates), she undocks, keeping a copy of the shared record as part of her lifetime information. The employer can choose to keep a copy as well.

Organizations of all types, particularly employers, can create branded portals to offer EverFile as a benefit and fund all or part of the subscription cost. In this case, users may choose to undock and create private subscriptions. The system is ideal for employers that want to cross-check records of re-hires, adopt a standard record-keeping format to create a uniform data structure used by employers that hire out of the same talent pool, or cut costs by using the EverFile subscription-based system to replace internal record or performance management systems.

Free 30-day trial subscriptions are available for individuals who want to try the system. Purchased subscription plans range from $8.00 per month for one year, to $2.75 per month for ten years. Site subscriptions are available for organizations, with volume pricing based on total number of users.
