periodically.
Your privacy is our primary concern. We maintain physical, electronic,
and procedural safeguards to protect personally identifiable information
about each subscriber, or a subscriber's current or former relationship
with EverFile ("Subscriber Information"). Personally
identifiable information is information about you, such as your
name, address, email address, or phone number that is not otherwise
publicly available.
This policy covers how EverFile treats Subscriber Information
that is collected and received. This policy does not apply to
the practices of companies that EverFile does not own or control,
nor does it apply to people that EverFile does not employ or manage.
Other companies have their own privacy policies, and these can
be viewed at their own websites.
EverFile may update this policy at any time without prior notice.
We will inform you of significant changes in the way we handle
your personal information by sending a notice to the primary email
address specified in your EverFile account or by displaying a
prominent notice on our website.
This policy explains the collection, use, retention and security

EverFile is an online service helping individuals create and
maintain a cumulative record of school, work, and personal information.
The information you, the user, choose to create, upload, and store
on this site enables you to build a complete historical record
that can be used to demonstrate experience and knowledge and to
develop future career and life plans. All information you create
and enter into the data fields or upload into the EverFile system
is your sole property, including information uploaded by third
parties with your authorization, and is not the property of EverFile.
Information you enter into the data fields or upload into the
system will only be viewable by you and will not be searchable
by others. Certain records that you authorize to be docked (shared)
with others will be viewable by them.
EverFile employees are authorized to access Subscriber Information
for business purposes only. Our employees are bound by a code
of ethics and business policies that require confidential treatment
of Subscriber Information. They are subject to disciplinary action
if they fail to follow the business policies. We limit access
to Subscriber Information to employees we believe reasonably need
to come into contact with that information in order to do their
jobs or provide products or services to you.
1. What Personal Information of Yours Is Collected by EverFile
You must first register on this website in order to become an
EverFile user. To create an account you are required to provide
your name, address, telephone, and email address, and also choose
a username, password, and secret reminder clue. After you register
with EverFile and log in, you are not anonymous to us.
EverFile collects personal information when you register, when
you use EverFile products or services, when you visit EverFile
pages or the pages of certain EverFile partners, and when you
enter promotions. EverFile works with vendors, partners, advertisers,
and other service providers in different industries and categories
of business. EverFile may combine information we have about you
with information we obtain from business partners or other companies.
EverFile collects information about your transactions with us
and with certain business partners, including information about
your use of products and services that we offer.
EverFile collects certain types of information in order to operate
and improve our service to all users. EverFile is the sole owner
of any information collected on this site in order to operate
and improve our service.
Web log files and cookies
EverFile automatically receives and records information on our
server logs from your browser, including your IP address, EverFile
cookie information, and the page you request.
When your web browser or email application requests a web page
or email from another computer on the Internet, it automatically
gives that computer the address where it should send the information.
This is your computer's "IP address," where IP stands
for "Internet Protocol."
Users accessing the Internet from a dial-up Internet service provider
(ISP) will often have a different IP address each time they log
on. EverFile receives IP addresses from all users, because this
information is automatically reported by your browser each time
you view a web page. When an EverFile web page is requested and
viewed, that request is logged on our servers with information
including the IP address of the computer that requested the page.
Your IP address is also stored in our user registration databases
when you register with EverFile. Your IP addresses may be used
for various purposes, including to:
- Diagnose technical problems reported by users or by technical
personnel associated with the IP addresses controlled by a specific
web company or ISP.
- Display relevant advertising based on location or on information
derived from your IP address. Many IP addresses are commonly
associated with Internet service providers, universities, or
major corporations in specific regions or localities. Aggregate
information derived from IP addresses may also be reported to
partners and advertisers.
- Help determine which users have access privileges to certain
content that we host.
- Estimate the total number of users visiting EverFile from
different geographic regions.
- Assist merchants partnering with EverFile to track visits
to and business at their stores.
A cookie is a small data file, often including an anonymous unique
identifier, which is sent to your browser from a web site's computers
and stored on your computer's hard drive. Each web site can send
its own cookie to your browser if your browser's preferences allow
it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a
web site to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not
the cookies sent to you by other sites. Cookies can contain a
variety of information, such as a simple count of how often you
visit a website or information that allows customization of a
website for your use.
You can configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all
cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. Each browser is different;
you will need to check your browser to learn how to change your
cookie preferences. If you reject all cookies, you will not be
able to use EverFile products or services that require you to
"sign in."
EverFile uses its own cookies for a number of purposes. These
include to:
- Access your information when you "sign in," so that
we can provide you with customized content.
- Display the most appropriate advertising banners and content,
based on your interests and activity on EverFile.
- Assist merchant partners of EverFile to process the items
in your shopping cart.
- Estimate and report our total audience size and traffic.
- Conduct research to improve EverFile's content and services.
- Require you to re-enter your EverFile password after a certain
period of time has elapsed to protect you against others accidentally
accessing your account contents.
EverFile allows certain other companies to set and access their
cookies on your computer. The use of cookies by partners, advertisers,
auditors, and research organizations is subject to their own
privacy policies, not the EverFile Privacy Policy.
Most advertisements you see on the EverFile website are served
to your web browser by EverFile. However, we also allow certain
companies called ad networks to serve some advertisements within
our web pages. Ad networks include third party ad servers, ad
agencies, ad technology vendors and research firms.
EverFile may also include a file called a web beacon from these
ad networks within pages served by EverFile so the networks may
provide auditing, research and reporting for participating advertisers.
Your web browser must request these advertisements and web beacons
from the ad network's servers; therefore, these companies can
view, edit or set cookies as if you had requested a page from
their website. EverFile "targets" some ads to users
that may fit a certain profile, for example, people over 40 years
of age interested in financial planning services. EverFile does
not provide any personal information to the advertiser when you
interact with or view a targeted ad. However, when you interact
with or view an ad, the possibility exists that the advertiser
may assume you meet the targeting criteria used to display the
ad.
With current Internet technology standards, we automatically
receive the URL of the site from which you came and the site to
which you are going when you leave the EverFile website. We also
receive the Internet protocol (IP) address of your computer, or
the proxy server you use to access the World Wide Web; your computer
operating system and type of web browser you are using; and your
ISP's name. This information is used to analyze overall trends
to help us improve the EverFile service, but it is not linked
to your personally identifiable information in any way.
2. How Information Is Used and Shared
EverFile does not rent, sell, or share Subscriber Information
to or with third parties except to provide products or services
the subscriber has requested, when we have the subscriber's permission,
or under the following circumstances:
- We provide the information to trusted partners who work on
behalf of or with EverFile under confidentiality agreements.
These companies may use your Subscriber Information to help
EverFile communicate with you about offers from EverFile and
our marketing partners. These companies do not have any independent
right to share this information.
- We have a parent's permission to share the information if
the user is a child under age 13.
- We share customer information we collect about you online
to credit bureaus and similar organizations when required by
law. It is possible that we will be required by law to disclose
personal information. We will disclose such information where
we have a good-faith belief that it is necessary to comply with
a court order, ongoing judicial proceeding, or other legal process
served on our company or to exercise our legal rights or defend
against legal claims. Subscriber Information may also be disclosed
to companies that process your requests for products or services.
- We believe it is necessary to share information in order to
investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities,
suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the
physical safety of any person, violations of EverFile's terms
of use, or as otherwise required by law.
- We transfer information about you if EverFile is acquired
by or merged with another company. In this event, EverFile will
notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes
subject to a different privacy policy.
Managing information with companies that work for us
EverFile may share certain information outlined in this policy
with companies that work for us, including companies located outside
the United States. All companies that act on our behalf are contractually
obligated to keep the information we provide to them confidential
and to use the information we share only to provide the services
we ask them to perform for you and for us.
We share information with third parties to carry out your instructions
and to provide specific services you request or purchase. For
example, we use a credit card processing company to manage payment
processing, and customer support providers working in different
time zones to assist us in handling technical issues or fulfilling
service requests.
Online advertising
EverFile may work with advertising companies to advertise our
products and services on websites not affiliated with EverFile.
If you click on one of our ads, often called "banner ads,"
you link to the EverFile page or website that offers the advertised
product or service. These ads may contain cookies that allow tracking
of your response to our advertisements. These cookies do not identify
you personally. We prohibit any company that places our banner
ads from using this information for any purpose other than to
assist us in measuring the effectiveness of our ads.
EverFile displays targeted advertisements based on personal information.
Advertisers (including ad serving companies) may assume that people
who interact with, view, or click on targeted ads meet the targeting
criteria. EverFile does not provide any personal information to
the advertiser when you interact with or view a targeted ad. However,
by interacting with or viewing an ad you are consenting to the
possibility that the advertiser may assume you meet the targeting
criteria used to display the ad. EverFile advertisers include
career coaches and counselors, financial advisors and financial
service providers, employers, schools, and other business service
providers.
Online surveys and sweepstakes
From time to time, you may be asked to participate in online surveys
or promotions on our website. Online surveys are used so EverFile
can gather information to better serve you. Based on the information
you provide EverFile may inform you of products and services from
EverFile or trusted partners. If you have asked EverFile not to
contact you with direct marketing offers, your request will be
honored. You are not required to complete online surveys or promotions.
Linking to other sites
EverFile may from time to time enter into partner agreements with
other online services. Whenever we offer such combined services
we will clearly identify the partner, and it will be your choice
whether to use the combined services. In these cases, EverFile
will not pass any of your personally identifiable information
to the partner.
EverFile may provide links to non-EverFile companies, such as
merchants who are authorized to offer their products and services
on the EverFile website. If you choose to link to websites not
controlled by EverFile, we are not responsible for the privacy
or security of these sites, including the accuracy, completeness,
reliability or suitability of their information. If you are asked
to provide information on one of these websites, we strongly urge
you to carefully study their privacy policies before sharing your
information.
3. Accessing and Changing Your Account Information and Preferences
You can review the personal information you provided us and make
any desired changes to the information, or to the settings for
your EverFile account, at any time by logging in to your account
on the EverFile website and editing the information in the My
Account section. You can also close your account through the EverFile
website at any time.
If you close your EverFile account, we will remove your name and
other personally identifiable information from our database, and
you have the right to download all your data within a specified
period of time. If you wish to close your account and remove your
information, you can email your request to customersupport@everfile.com.
For proper identification we require that you send your request
using an email account you have registered with EverFile under
your name.
EverFile will communicate with you through email and notices posted
on this website. We reserve the right to send you certain communications
relating to the EverFile service and proper functioning of your
account, service announcements, administrative messages, and the
EverFile Newsletter, which are considered part of your EverFile
account, without offering you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving
them.
4. Security
In order to ensure your privacy and secure your information, all
communications between you and the EverFile website are protected
through Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Private information
can be accessed only by providing your password.
The EverFile site has multiple layers of data security. Subscriber
information is stored on servers that are physically isolated
from the public Internet. Physical security for the servers on
which subscriber information is stored is provided by AT&T
Enhanced Network Services in one of their secure hosting centers
to ensure guaranteed uptime and security. All files are managed
within a triple-redundancy storage subsystem. EverFile Systems,
Inc. does not disclose details regarding hardware or software,
in order to protect its servers and subscriber information.
Only those employees who reasonably need to come into contact
with information about you in order to perform a specific task
are granted access to customer information. No customer information
is stored on EverFile employees' personal computers or workstations.
EverFile has a company-wide education and training program about
security and privacy that is required of every employee, and we
work with vendors and partners to protect the security and privacy
of user information.
Should any situation arise in which any of our subscribers' personal
information is compromised in any way we will notify you as quickly
as possible and take all reasonable steps to correct or ameliorate
the situation.
5. Protecting Personal Information
Guarding Against Online Viruses
All Internet users should be aware of the danger of online viruses
to damage or compromise the security of their computers. A computer
infected with a virus may lose information and require repairs.
Common recommendations include:
- Make sure your computer has an anti-virus protection program
installed to reduce the risk of your computer becoming infected.
- Purchase a program that automatically upgrades your virus
protection on a recurring basis. If you do not have an automatic
upgrade feature, you should update your virus detection program
periodically and each time you learn about a new virus.
- Do not open attachments unless you know or are certain you
can trust the source. Learn how to manually screen attachments
if your anti-virus software does not automatically screen for
viruses.
Your Internet service provider (ISP) may have additional recommendations
and technical support for protection against online viruses,
e-mail fraud and spam that are specific to your computer and
network.
Guarding Against Identity Theft
Identity theft happens when someone steals personal information
such as a credit card number or Social Security number and then
uses this information illegally, for example to purchase goods
or services. Common recommendations include:
- Don't give out personal information such as a Social Security
number and account or credit card information over the telephone,
in person or on the Internet unless you are sure with whom you
are dealing.
- Memorize your PIN (Personal Identification Number) and do
not write it down on something you keep in your wallet or purse.
- Don't mail bills or sensitive information from your home or
unsecured mailboxes. Retrieve and review your mail promptly.
Thieves may use the personal information contained in your mail
to steal your identity.
- Don't use email to send sensitive information.
- Shred any pre-approved credit offers to which you do not reply.
Thieves can use these offers to assume your identity.
- If you do not receive a regular bill on schedule, whether
in hard copy or online, call the company to find out why.
- Review monthly account statementsthoroughly. Investigate suspicious
items immediately to head off any possible fraud before it occurs.
- Protect your and your family's Social Security numbers by
not carrying them in a wallet or purse. Do not print a Social
Security number on checks.
- Report lost or stolen checks or credit or debit cards immediately.
- Do not carry important documents such as passports or birth
certificates unless needed for a specific activity. Store such
valuable documents safely at all times.
- Store financial statements and documents in a safe place,
and shred them when you discard them.
- Review your credit reportat least once every year. Make sure
all information is up-to-date and accurate.

Commission, http://www.consumer.gov/idtheft
Guarding Against Email Fraud
Email fraud is commonly used to gain access to existing accounts
or to use personal and financial information to open new accounts.
Fraudulent emails may ask you to reply directly or click on a
link that takes you to a website that appears legitimate. They
will generally ask you to provide sensitive personal, financial
or account information.
Email messages disguised as legitimate email and sent to you for
the purpose of stealing personal and financial information are
among the most common types of e-mail fraud. These messages may
claim to be from sources you trust and attempt to entice you to
provide various types of personal and confidential information,
including online IDs and pass codes, Social Security numbers and
account numbers. Common recommendations include:
- Don't take anything for granted. Confirm the validity of all
requests for sensitive personal, financial or account information,
particularly if they are made with an urgent or threatening
tone.
- Unless you know the organization, call them directly or go
to their website to confirm any request for updating or verifying
personal or account information. Open a new browser window,
type the Web address, and check to see if you are actually required
to perform any activity that an email may be asking you to do,
such as change a pass code.
- Do not share your IDs or pass codes with anyone. Choose pass
codes that are difficult for others to guess and do not use
the same pass code for each of your online accounts. Use both
letters and numbers and a combination of lowercase and capital
letters if the pass codes or personal identification numbers
(PINs) are case sensitive. Change your pass code often.
- If you think you may have provided personal or account information
in response to a fraudulent email or website, report the fraud
immediately to EverFile Customer Support, customersupport@everfile.com,
change your pass codes immediately, and monitor your account
activity frequently.
- Always completely sign off a website or a secure area of a
website for which you use an ID and pass code to enter. This
includes completely closing the browser window.
- When your computer is not in use, shut it down or disconnect
it from the Internet.
- Be careful about providing your email address to a website
you don't know or trust.
